Genealogy is a wonderful and rewarding pastime, but it can also be challenging, confusing and time-consuming. That is when Folktrees can help.
As a qualified genealogist, I know where any gaps in documentation may exist and where to look for more unusual and international records.
I know how to give context to any genealogical findings, how to read and transcribe old handwriting, and how to interpret genealogical DNA results.
I have the tools and expertise to overcome many family history obstacles and to solve intricate, genealogical mysteries.
I am a highly-qualified, professional genealogist, with many years experience of carrying out family history research and genealogical investigations.
I hold a MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic & Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde, awarded with Distinction, as well as a BA (Hons) in History with English.
I am a member of the Register of Qualified Genealogists (RQG). The RQG's rigorous membership standards ensure that only those with excellent qualifications and a true commitment to upholding the highest quality of genealogical research may be counted among their members. (Please see the RQG’s Professional Code here.) I am also a member of the American Association of Professional Genealogists (APG).
I will deliver an exceptional, meticulous and friendly service for all your genealogical inquiries, whether large or small. I look forward to hearing how I may be able to assist you with your genealogical research.
Genealogical research about women is often much harder to carry out than it is for men. This is because, historically, fewer records relating to women were kept, and even if documentation exists, women were often consigned to the roles of ‘mother’, ‘daughter’ or ‘wife.’
Because of this, I have a particular interest in researching and recording womens’ genealogy and finding out as much as possible about our female ancestors’ lives.
I look forward to hearing how I may help you discover more about the amazing lives of your foremothers.
